Clarity Dashboard User roles and permissions walkthrough
When an Org Admin adds someone to the organization, they assign one or more roles. Each role grants permission to do a different set of things on the Dashboard. This article explains what each role is for and includes a full permissions table.
Note: A user can have more than one role. Their permissions are the combination of all the roles they hold.
Org Admin
Org Admins manage the organization and its resources. An organization can have several Org Admins — Clarity assigns the first one, who can then add others.
We recommend this role for your air quality monitoring project manager or supervisor.
Org Admins can add and manage users, edit organization information, give applications access to your data via the API, configure devices, edit monitoring location details (name, group, and tags), and view air quality measurements and device status. To learn how, see managing your organization's users.
Technician
Technicians deploy devices in the field and keep them running over time.
We recommend this role for anyone who will deploy Clarity Nodes and Modules and update a device's location when it's moved.
Technicians can configure devices, edit monitoring location details, and view air quality measurements and device status.
Analyst
Analysts inspect measurements to find patterns and answer environmental questions.
We recommend this role for users focused on data analysis who aren't involved in field deployment.
Analysts can view air quality measurements and device status, and edit monitoring location details (name, group, and tags).
Observer
Observers see the same things as Analysts but can't edit anything on the Dashboard.
We recommend this role for users who analyze data but shouldn't change monitoring location name, group, or tags.
Observers can view air quality measurements and device status.
Guest
Guests are Observers with access to only part of the network.
We recommend this role for users who need access to a specific subset of monitoring locations.
Guests can view air quality measurements for the monitoring locations their Org Admin assigns them. See managing a Guest's access.
