Reference Monitor data on Dashboard - frequent questions
Reference monitor data is an important part of your air quality network, and Clarity pulls in nearby public reference data automatically. Here are answers to the questions we hear most often about it.
How close do reference monitors need to be to appear?
Any reference monitor with publicly available data — from the partners listed below — within 10,000 meters (6.21 miles) of a deployed Clarity Node will appear on the Dashboard.
I moved a Node. How do I get the relevant reference monitors?
You'll need to reconfigure your Node with the new coordinates. The relevant reference monitors will then appear within the next 24 hours.
How do I remove reference monitors from a Node's old location?
Email support@clarity.io with your request and we'll take care of it.
Where does the reference monitor data come from?
Clarity accesses reference data through these partners:
- European Environment Agency (European Union)
- OpenAQ
- AirNow
Why does reference monitor data matter?
Collocating your Nodes with a reference monitor is a critical step in calibration, which is what makes your data accurate and reliable. You can read more about collocation and about how Clarity assures data quality.
