Ozone Module maintenance
The Ozone Module is designed for low-maintenance field operation. The main task is checking and replacing the particulate filter when needed. This article covers that and recalibration.
Before you start
- Spare particulate filters: ten (10) new filters come in the box with every Ozone Module.
- If you need more, order them directly from Savillex as part
#450-47-4(47 mm filter membrane, 5–6 micron).
Checking and replacing the particulate filter
The particulate filter keeps particles from contaminating the flow path. Depending on the particulate matter in the ambient air, it saturates over time and needs periodic replacement.
Assuming a high average particulate concentration (~50 µg/m³), the estimated filter lifetime varies with the Node-S sleep time:
| Sleep time (sec) | % operation | Particulate filter lifetime |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 33% | 3 months |
| 300 | 17% | 6 months |
| 600 | 11% | 9 months |
| 900 (default) | 8% | 1 year |
Because the actual particulate concentration varies by site, we recommend checking the filter after 2 months of operation and replacing it if needed. You can replace the particulate filter yourself.
Tip: After replacing the filter, perform a zero check to confirm it was installed properly.
Recalibration
Clarity recommends recalibrating the Ozone Module every two years, which requires sending the unit back. To start that process, email support@clarity.io.
