What should I do if I hear two low beeps (low battery) when powering up my Node-S, and no data appears on Dashboard?
If your Node-S gives two low-pitched beeps when you power it up — and then no data shows up on the Dashboard — it almost certainly just needs charging. This article explains why and what to do.
What's happening
Two low beeps on power-up means the battery is very low. This commonly happens when:
- You've just received your Node-S, especially if it sat in its box for a while.
- You're redeploying a Node-S after a period of inactivity.
When the Node-S powers up and emits two low-pitched beeps, the battery is low. The device won't start uploading data until it has charged above a certain threshold and exits deep sleep mode.
What to do
- Charge your Node-S for at least 24 hours when you first receive it or redeploy it, so it reaches an adequate charge.
- Once it's fully charged and configured, monitor its battery percentage from the Clarity Dashboard — see the Device Status Details page.
You're done! Once charged, your Node-S will exit deep sleep and start uploading data.
What's next
- Troubleshoot Power, Battery, and Charging alarms.
- How long does the Node-S battery last?
- Confirm your device is uploading data.
