How long does the Clarity Node-S battery last?
The Node-S runs on a lithium-ion battery and solar panel, so it's built for off-grid deployments. This article explains how long the battery lasts and what affects it.
Running off-grid
With its battery and solar panel, the Node-S can operate continuously outdoors without manual recharging. Under normal conditions, the two are optimized so the device can run indefinitely, as long as there's enough sunlight.
How long it lasts without sunlight
At the default sampling frequency, a fully charged Node-S can keep operating for up to 30 days even without sunlight. If you increase the sampling frequency, the battery depletes faster, shortening that time.
If you need to adjust the sampling frequency for your use case or sunlight availability, Clarity can help you customize it — see the Node-S sampling frequency, and email support@clarity.io to explore your options.
