Finding true north to align the Wind Module

To report wind direction accurately, the Wind Module needs to be aligned to true north. This article shows you how to find it.


What true north is

True north (or geographic north) is the fixed point of the earth's north pole — not the same as magnetic north, which a compass points to.


How to find it

To find true north, we recommend NOAA's Magnetic Field Calculator. It works best outdoors and away from metal objects.
