What is the lifetime of the Clarity Node-S?

The Node-S is built for years of outdoor use. This article covers how long you can expect it to last and what affects that.

Expected lifetime​

The Node-S is designed for long-term outdoor use and thoroughly tested at the factory. Across thousands of devices deployed in many countries and a wide range of conditions, the mean device lifetime works out to 3.5 years.

Your device's actual lifetime depends on the environmental conditions and pollution levels where it's deployed — harsher conditions can shorten it.

Remote monitoring and replacement​

You can monitor device status remotely on the Dashboard to troubleshoot hardware issues over the life of your network. If remote troubleshooting doesn't resolve an issue, we can replace the device as part of Clarity's Sensing-as-a-Service.
